Recovering an account without transaction verification or activation URL
-
My log-in simply stopped working today on both desktop and mobile devices. I don’t have either of the above means of proof that https://writingbooksandmusic.wordpress.com/ is my site. However, all my work is on the front page and handily there is also a picture of me on the front page. Is there anyway that I can recover the account?

Hi there,
It appears the email address you have connected to that account is no longer valid, as all our password reset emails are bouncing.
The only way to regain access to that site is to verify your ownership via our account recovery form. We cannot accept any information appearing on your site as proof of ownership, and there’s no other way to regain access to the account.

I have no way of knowing how to remedy the ‘bounce back’ of the email address. None of the emails reached me. I am now not getting a password reset email for that account and cannot therefore change the details on it. With none of the means to recover this account it means I can no longer use it despite wanting to upgrade it to a paid account and registered domain. Thanks for your help.

Howdy –
I know this is frustrating. We will do our best to get you back in to that account, but need specified proof of ownership, These security measures in place keep the account safe.
At this point, because the email on the account is no longer active, the password reset is not going to work. The email address can’t receive any mail. Using the Account Recovery form is the only way forward.
