Recovering an address name
-
I want to create another blog, but the name I want to use is already taken. When I searched for it, however, it turned out to be occupied by a sample page for a retired theme, rather than a real blog. Is there a way to recover that address name?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If you deleted the blog, then it is gone.
WordPress.com does not recycle or reuse urls. If a url or name has been deleted it is gone forever. You can choose an alternate but similar name, for example, substitute a letter with a number, or add a number to the name you want.

Addresses (URLs) for blogs that have been deleted by the owner will remain deleted. We cannot, under any circumstances, allow someone to take over the address of a blog that was previously owned and deleted by its original/previous owner. Please do not submit support requests asking us to do this.

Oh well, there might be somebody still using that theme. Who knows? Still seems a bit of a shame. I’ll try and find another way around this. Thanks for your answers guys.

Themes are retired when they no longer support all WordPress features. In cases where the theme has been used on a blog previously the retired theme will be available. However, it is not available to those who have new WordPress.com blogs.

timethief, I don’t want the theme. I want the address where its sample pages are hosted.
