  The domain has expired and I need to redeem it asap. How do I do this?

  Hi there,

  Once a domain expires, it goes through a series of steps that make it increasingly difficult (and more expensive) to renew. An expired domain falls into a grace period for about 10 days to two weeks. During this short window, the domain can be renewed at the regular price.

  After the grace period ends, your domain enters the redemption period, the length of which can vary. This means the domain name can still be renewed, but there is an $80.00 redemption fee required in addition to the normal renewal cost.

  Hi,

  Thanks for this, I’ve sent a request to the WordPress support, tried to call, pretty much everything.

  I don’t mind paying the redemption fee I just need the domain back and no one from WordPress is coming back to me. There is no option to purchase the domain on my account anymore.

  Is there a number to call for wordpress?

  Hi

  Yes I thought I’d try the forum after waiting two days after using the Live-chat support. The gentlemen I spoke to on the livechat passed my query to WordPress and advised it would be 24 hours until someone got back to me.

  This is starting to effect my business greatly with no access to emails and a full team relying on the email system.

  I tried my online account to upgrade but it just says that the domain expired recently and to contact support – which I have done.

  Getting desperate now

  This domain name ‘sogroup.org’ seems to be using WordPress.org software which is hosted on godaddy .

  This forum helps the sites hosted on WordPress.com only.
