Recovering Featured Images
-
Hello,
I recently had my WordPress.com site censored and permanently suspended, so the only way to get my old featured images back was via the Archive.org saved data via the Wayback machine.
I used a plugin called Archivarix, and to my delight it seemed to be able to recover most of my images, as I can see all the newly created directories in my wp-uploads folder. However, no matter what featured image regeneration plugin I have tried, I can’t get a single post to re-populate the featured images.
I’m not sure if this matters yet, but I have not redirected my domain to the /wp folder on my site. I’m not sure If I have to do something with mapping my domain to the database, or what, but I have most of my images sitting there, featured and ones within the posts content itself, ready to be used, but I simply can’t get WordPress to recognize them as such. I know that the plugins have a way of interfering with each other if you have multiple plugins of the same contextual application so I have tried deactivating all of them and using one each at a time but I can seem to get a door in figure there something wrong fundamentally with what I am doing but I can’t figure it out.
I am using the Rowling Theme. Perhaps switching to a different theme for repopulating the images, then switching back. I’ve tried lots of stuff at this point and am usually pretty good at this stuff, but I’m stumped and have digressed to the experts in the community.
Thanks so much for any help.
