Recovering unsaved post
-
I created a new post and typed out a really long post and clicked on publish, but it showed an error message, something along the lines of ‘Are you sure you want to do this? Please try again’, and when I clicked on the link, it led me back to the add a new post page with all my work gone. It was unsaved as I just typed it out and wanted to publish it on the spot.
The add a new post page was preloaded for about a day, so I’m aware that was the source of the error. However, what I’m concerned with is whether I can recover that post as it was a pretty emotional one and I was crying as I wrote it and now it’s all gone.
Please don’t give the standard reply regarding recovering drafts/posts, as I’ve read through all of them and tried all of them, and none of them work. I’ve also been through several threads and they are all saying the exact same thing, so it’s not going to be helpful.
Is it possible to search my browser cache for the unsaved post, and how can I do it? I’ve tried looking at my cache and the list is humongous so I have no idea really how to narrow down my search.
If there’s really no way to recover the post, I hope WordPress can implement something else instead of going to a new error page when there’s an error, so we can at least still copy and paste our work somewhere else. A pop-up box would be good. It won’t solve the problem for everyone, but it would greatly help those who would want to be cautious and copy their work somewhere else first.
Hope to get a reply soon. Thanks.

I’m afraid the post is gone.
Losing a post is terribly frustrating, so I can sympathize. I will share your feedback with the editor team.
