Recovery Mode not initialized.

  My website crashed due to some unknown add-on update. I have received an email with a link for me to entering mode. (I thought I have succeeded after entering the mode) I press ‘exit recovery mode’ and cannot enter recovery mode anymore. (I know it sounds stupid but I have no coding background). The link directs me to a page that says ‘Recovery Mode not initialized.’ How can I enter recovery mode again?
