Recovery of this site

Is there anyway to recover the data from this site. The domain expired. However, I was able to repurchase. I’d like to recover all old posts and pages to this site if possible?

Hello there,
Many thanks for reaching out.
Are you able to confirm the URL of the website that you need assistance with please?

Hi there!
It looks like your domain is currently pointed to Bluehost, a different hosting service provider where you could host self-hosted WordPress.org sites.
I checked the domain on our end, and I found that you haven’t had a site with us for 7 years. If your site was newer, you’d need to contact Bluehost support, as your site is hosted by them and not us.
There are some differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org. If you aren’t sure about them, please check the following page that explains it: WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org.
Your site with Bluehost uses WordPress.org, and because it’s not hosted by us, we are unable to help. So please contact Bluehost and see if they have a backup.
If you get the backup, you can consider moving to WordPress.com. Some of our plans, like the WordPress.com Business plan, come with real-time backups with restores, automated security scanning and software updates, powerful servers, and more.
Even on the lower plans, your site remains at the free WordPress.com address if the domain expires, so you will still have access to it. You can check out our plans and pricing if you’re interested in migrating your site to WordPress.com. We can also help directly via this forum, email, and live chat support (depending on the plan you get) if your site is hosted by us.
Let us know if you have any questions!

I did originally check with bluehost. They couldn’t provide me with a backup. I thought maybe my information was still stored on WordPress? Are you saying my site was hosted by WordPress.org?

Hi there,
Apologies, but we can’t help with a backup because we don’t host your site directly on our WordPress.com managed hosting. It’s not so much the fact that you are using the free open-source (.org) version of the WordPress software, but where you are hosted in this case.
To explain, we are a fully managed hosting provider and use a custom server environment that is optimized for WordPress, provides built-in security and performance improvements, as well as in-house support for your site questions.
Because of the way we’ve optimized our service, we also use a customized version of WordPress that is different (under the hood) from what you use at Bluehost. As a result we are not able to offer backups and historical data for sites hosted elsewhere. That is the responsibility of your host
We do have backups built in to our servie if you would like to consider hosting with us moving forward, but as it stands now, we can’t assist with recovering your lost data.
I’m sorry to hear Bluehost is not able to help in this regard. I did some searching on the internet, and found that some older copies of your site are found on the Internet Archive here: https://web.archive.org/web/20190307205020/https://www.mrsmulvihill.com/
They do not offer a way to export that content back into a new site, but you may be able to manually copy/paste your most important posts into new ones, so that you do not have to rebuild from scratch: https://web.archive.org/web/20190307205020/https://www.mrsmulvihill.com/
You are welcome to start a new site with us here if you like, we’re happy to help you get back on your feet with blogging! https://wordpress.com/start/
