Hello, I recently started a new webpage and changed the theme by accident. I cancelled it thinking to just start over. Can I have access to the old domain?

When i set up the site yesterday, I chose the recommended template & theme of a construction site. I worked on it for a little while and then swapped the entire theme out in error. I tried so hard to find it and couldn’t that I cancelled and tried to start over. But now I get a message that “This domain expired recently. To get it back please contact support.”

Hi Caroline,
The domain, jmarottaconstruction.com, was registered, and subsequently cancelled, on 26 October, so you no longer own it.
We can still restore the domain to your account for the next couple of days, but you’ve also cancelled your plan which you used to register that domain, and we’ve refunded your payment.
Go to My Site ->Plans and buy a new upgrade plan for your WordPress.com site. Once you’ve done that, let us know here and we can restore your domain.

Custom domains are registered for a full year at a time, and cannot be changed once registered.
If you want a different domain, you’ll need to cancel the current one and register the one you want in its place.
Your current domain, jmarottaconstruction.com, is still refundable for the next 24 hours. Please confirm as soon as possible if you want to cancel it to register the new one instead. If we only get your confirmation after the domain exits the refund period, you’ll have to pay separately for the new domain.

Would it be possible to just cancel it until I make up my mind? The client is going back and forth a lot.

It’s currently cancelled and the credit is in place for you to use when you’re ready. You might let them know, too, that for $18 more they can just register both domains if they want to. They can make one primary, and the second will redirect to it.

Thank you! I’m still trying to figure out how to find the theme I originally started with. It was a “construction theme”. Is the theme only available once I pay for it?
