Recycling my OWN blog url name, that I previously deleted. HELP
-
It is clear, that wordpress does not allow “Recycling Blog Addresses” (example.wordpress.com) – to allow someone to take over the address of a blog that was owned and deleted by its original/previous owner.
However, I AM the previous owner of that name, I AM the one who foolishly deleted the blog because it seemed like an easy option without understanding the consequences.
I want the name BACK because I want to create a new blog with my original url name. Please wordpress, give me MY NAME BACK. -
Hmm, I’m afraid this policy applies to original owners as well.
When deleting a blog, you’re given several warnings that the address will become unavailable once deleted. The same is mentioned in the support article.
What you can still however do is, try registering a new but similar URL! Good luck.

Another option is to buy the annual Custom Domain upgrade with your name (if it is available) and then it doesn’t matter what the underlying yoursite.wordpress.com address is.
Here’s more about Custom Domains. https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/
