Recycling URL
-
I have 2 word press accounts. On one account I deleted a website hoping I would be able to create it on my other account but it says I cannot use a recycled URL.
I really need the original URL I deleted because it is for a college class that uses a template. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
During the process of deletion, there are several warning messages throughout that state deletion is a permanent action. Once deleted, you aren’t able to get it back. The only exception is for blogs deleted two or more years ago that do not have username or other conflicts.
See here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/You can register a new blog here:

There were never any warnings that I would not be able to use the URL on a different account. I never even received a confirmation email about deleting it.
-
That’s odd. I’ll add the modlook tag so that someone on Staff can look at your account and speak with you further about it.

Hi there,
Right before proceeding to delete the site, there is a warning that says,
Be careful! Once a site is deleted, it cannot be recovered. Please be sure before you proceed.
Then, after proceeding, you should’ve seen a yellow bar with the warning stating that the URL would not be available in the future.
As a final warning, you have to type in the address to confirm that you want to delete the site. It states that the site will be gone forever.
We recently updated the process to where you do not have to confirm through email to delete the site and URL because there are three clear warnings beforehand:
Did you see these warnings?
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks!

These are not the warnings I saw. I discarded the address and what I saw said “If you think you will reuse this name keep this option unchecked.” I did not intend to reuse that address with that account, but there was no warning that I could not use that address with a different account.
My thinking was if I didn’t discard the address then I couldn’t register it with a different account – I was unaware that no matter what I did this was not possible. -
Ah, it sounds like you used the change blog address option:

You are referring to this message. I can see how the wording can be ambiguous. What is the URL address that was deleted?
I’ll take a look into this for you.
Thanks!

I deleted this address from a different account I have, katierego, but I’d like the address on this account, katlynrego. Let me know if there’s anything I can do to help solve this problem.
Thank you. -
Hey there,
I sent an email to the katierego account in regards to the site.
Please let me know if you do not receive the email.
Thanks!
