Red box blocking out my entire side bar of widgets
-
Hello, I am noticing that every time I view my site either from my phone or a desktop, there is a huge red box/bar on the right side of my home screen covering where my widgets should be. I don’t know how to get rid of it, but none of my widgets are displaying.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I see this, too. Although, I see it only on your home page, not on any others.
Do you see it on others?
What I see: https://cloudup.com/crLgZI9gv_HI did remember recently seeing something similar in another thread and it was due to extra HTML tags. Any chance you recently added HTML that could be the culprit? Check the linked thread to see what I mean, although it is specific to another site. :)
I went ahead and tagged this for staff follow-up, in the meantime.
How do I get a Moderator/Staff reply for my question?
Some issues require staff member help. If you see or add a thread that you know needs staff intervention, you can add the modlook tag to the tags area of the thread to make sure we see it. -

Hi escapeinsidethepages,
there is a huge red box/bar on the right side of my home screen covering where my widgets should be.
As @christinemaze suggested, unclosed HTML tags in your post are the likely cause. I looked at Release Day Blitz & Review: With These Wings by Wendy Knight and it contains lots of additional code and empty tags — these can break the layout of page. If you go to the post editor and click on the HTML tab you can see what I mean:
https://wordpress.com/post/escapeinsidethepages.wordpress.com/5308
Then compare that with an earlier post:
https://wordpress.com/post/escapeinsidethepages.wordpress.com/5357
This usually occurs when text has been copied from somewhere else (Word or email) and then pasted into the editor.
I’d recommend copying the text from the Visual tab in the editor and paste it back in using the Paste as Text button:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#pasting-text
This will remove any unwanted formatting.
Give that a try and let me know how you get on.
Thanks!

I think the problem might the html in this specific post, since it also contains the red block at the side (which no other single post does), and the same post is also shown on the home page:
When I remove that post from the home page using Chromes Dev Tools, the red block disappears.
If you scroll down to just before the “Excerpt Three” heading, you’ll see some malformed html:
It looks like the html in that area might be causing the problem.

Hi escapeinsidethepages,
As @garysixtyeight has pointed out, it appears there is more than one post with extra HTML tags. It would also be a good idea to look at ‘Blitz: Blood Laws By Lexi C Coss’ too.
