Red X followed by https: with a red line through it. How do I fix it?
-
On my WordPress URL, there is a red x followed by https/ with a red line through it. I clicked onto the x to read what it meant, and although it told me, I don’t know how to fix it. Does one of my posts contain something which is harmful? Thank you! – Kristy

Thank you for replying, and I didn’t realize they were going to give my blog URL when I posted this. It’s on my other blog: http://tpaoa.wordpress.com/ Thank you!

When we create a thread there is a prompt that asks which blog we are referring to. If we ignore that prompt the software posts the link to our primary blog. Thanks for the correct link. I don’t see what you describe ie. the red X on that site either.

Okay, thank you. I wonder if it has anything to do with Google Chrome? I saw a forum there with the same type of question, and they said it didn’t happen with other browsers. I opened my blog in Firefox and didn’t see the X. Do you think it has something to do with Chrome? I don’t want people to think there’s anything unsafe on my blog. If the X is there, does that mean there’s something unsafe on my blog, maybe a link or a link from someone who commented? Thank you!

Yes I do believe it could be a Chrome issue. I’m using Firefox 12 and I don’t see what you see. These are some troubleshooting steps we take whenever any issues like this arise:
clearing your browser cache and cookies > http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050
updating the browser to the latest stable version (not a buggy BETA browser version) http://browsehappy.com/
using the browser with all extensions or add-ons disabled
Will you please try them and report back to us here? -
Wow, it worked! I cleared my cache and cookies, logged back in and the red X isn’t there any more! Thank you so much, I appreciate it! :)

You’re welcome. :) Here’s a tip. My browser is set up to automatically clear my broswer cache and cookies every time I leave the interent. Will you please be kind enough to enter the top of this thread and mark it “resolved”?
