Can anyone tell me since i cannot find it, is the Reddle theme still around please? I saw it on a friends site and quite liked it.

    Thanks

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • It technically is, but it was retired quite some time ago, so only available for sites that had it active at some time.

If your site fits that description, you can activate it from https://wordpress.com/theme/reddle

staff-blorbo how do I activate it please as Im only getting a box telling me its retired and then showing me next to it is the Reddle theme…

    Hope the link works.

Ive been here – not to this theme though – where I have been able to activate it and have done so, but I cant see anything to allow me too….? I cant seem to be able to show you via

Any more help would be appreciated – thanks.

  • As staff-blorbo mentioned that theme is retired and if you don’t see an option to enable it, the it’s not possible to do so.

@fstat so I’m guessing not seeing an activate button on the pic I showed you means I cant?

Is there another way I could get it to work for me, because I personally find – and it seems a lot of other WordPress users feel the same – that its unfair we cant because someone has retired it. Surely we should have the option whether we want to use it or not?

  • Hi @sharonharvey2,

Retired themes are no longer maintained and may have compatibility issues with the block editor. Anyone using the theme is recommended to switch to a newer theme; should they make a change they cannot switch back. It is not possible to activate a retired theme.

In this case, I suggest browsing Appearance → Themes for a similar theme. You might also want to consider a block-based theme, which uses to full site editing (FSE) allow you to further customize your site’s appearance.

    Hope that helps.
