  You may be too late. A member of staff offered to recover it for you two months ago but it looks like you never replied.

  Someone else (a domain squatter?) purchased that domain in July and have put the domain up for sale. You could approach them and see what price they want. If the price was reasonable then once you own the domain again you could map it to a WordPress.com site by purchasing an upgraded plan.

  OMG, great that totally sucks. There’s no other way to get it back other than purchasing it from whoever bought it?

  That domain is no longer in our control, so there’s nothing we can do.

  By letting it expire you gave up ownership of it, and the new owner can do whatever they want with it.
