(merged) redeeming a domain

    Hi there, this is Bonum1957.
    We have missed the right time to redeem our domain (bonum1957.com).
    If there’s still a chance to redeem it, we want to proceed with the process.
    We have read about the redemption period and understood that there may be an additional fee to redeem the domain during the period.
    Could you please inform us if we are still able to redeem the domain and how we can redeem it?

    Hi there,

    Your domain is still in redemption. Normally, that requires you to pay for the domain renewal plus an additional $80 redemption fee. We are able to help offset the cost of getting your domain back online by waiving the $80 redemption fee as a one-time courtesy.

    I have already emailed a payment link that covers the cost of the domain ($18). Please reply back here when you have completed the payment so that I can restore the domain.

    Our domain provider has redeemed the domain and I’ve now restored it to your account, so it will start taking people to your site again.

    However, I see the Business Plan you used to have on that site has also expired.

    To set your custom domain as primary on the site, so it’s the domain people see in their browser address bar, your site must be on a paid plan. Without a plan, the domain will just redirect to your free WordPress.com address.

    Also, because you had plugins installed on that site, you won’t be able to buy a plan yourself, so you have two options:

    1) We can send you another payment link to buy a new Business Plan. Once we receive that payment we can then manually add a new plan to your site.

    2) We can properly downgrade your site to the free plan. This involves reverting the site back to how it was before you first installed plugins, and there’s a risk that any content you added to the site since 23 April 2019 might be lost as part of this process. But once the site is reverted, you’ll be able to purchase any of our plans again.
