    Allowing a domain to expire
When you allow your domain expire, it then goes through a process that can take several months to complete described at https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration/.

If you are in the grace period you will not have to agree to pay a redemption fee set by the domain name registrar that wordpress.COM staff cannot waive.

Otherwise, if you want Staff to try to recover the domain for you then you will have to agree to pay the redemption fee.

This thread is tagged this thread in the sidebar with modlook for Staff attention.

If you’re logged into the account that is associated with your expired domain, they will look up its status and get in touch with details.

If you are not logged in under the correct username account then clear your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and cookies https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies prior to logging into the associated account, and provide the domain URL here.

    Hi joannaonwoodgmailcom,

I am trying to get my domain out of the redemption period.

bfitactive.com expired on 2017-06-03 which is why you are no longer able to renew it from your account. The domain is currently in the redemption period:

    Domain Expiration

We can still try to recover it but you will need to pay an $80 redemption fee in addition the $26 domain costs. If you agree, I can generate a payment request and contact our domain registrar once it has been paid.

If you don’t want to pay the fee you can wait until the domain is released, although this can take 80 days or more. There is also no guarantee you will be the first to register it again.

I never received a bill for the domain .

We sent a renewal email to the address on your Account Settings page. If you didn’t receive it, the email may have gone to your spam folder.

I also replied to you in another thread where you mentioned you thought the domain had been transferred. Is this something you would still like to do?

Please let me know which option above you would prefer.

    Thanks!

    Hi Joanna,

Thanks for confirming. I’ve sent a payment request to the email address on your account, please let me know if you don’t receive it. I’ll contact our registrar once it has been paid.

Also how can we make sure its automatically renewed??

I will double check auto renew is enabled on your upgrades. As long as there is a valid card on your account, the renewal should go though when the time comes.
