Redesign using a new template

  Is there a way to redesign my website using a different theme without having the changes go into effect immediately? My site is entirely set up with e-commerce functionality but I’m not happy with the appearance so I’d like to use a simpler template, then publish it after I’m satisfied with the design.

  Basically, can you have two different templates on one account?

  Hi @littlestarskek, sure thing. You’re looking for a staging site. If you’ll be hosting it here with us, I’d recommend doing a full site import to get a copy of what you have:
  https://wordpress.com/support/import/

  Then just avoid adding the domain option until you’re ready to go live with the new changes.

  If you’ll be continuing with your existing host, ask them what options they have for staging there.

  Thanks for your reply! My current wordpress site is hosted by Bluehost. Does that mean I need to contact them to start staging my redesigned site?

  Yes, you’ll need to contact them to help you set up a staging site. And if you need help with the WordPress software that your site is running, you can post in the WordPress.org support fourms.
