Redesigning our Club site offline

I was hoping to copy our Club’s wordpress.org website sequimpicklers.net to a Full Site Editing template so I could re-design it offline, then share it with our Board before replacing the original site with the new site. However, I’m told that because the free FSE template doesn’t allow plug-ins, this idea won’t work. Any other suggestions? I’d like to try out FSE and our site needs to be redesigned (and the Board won’t pay to hire a web designer). Thanks.

Hey Janice, in order to add plugins and to have more features to a wordpress.com website, you will need to be on the pro plan which is $15 per website.
For wordpress.org, which is self-hosted, you are free to use anything and there are no restrictions. Be sure to make a full backup to your website before making any changes. Please refer to the links below to know more about website backup.
