Redirect domain

  • Unknown's avatar

I have a domain: http://www.tagc.com which (until 3 days ago) was redirected to http://www.tagc.dk.

http://www.tagc.dk is our main site which we work on, but tagc.com has never had any content, since it was only used to redirect to tagc.dk.

Our problem is that now somehow it doesn’t work anymore and when I enter http://www.tagc.com it says that I have to renew for one more year, but how can I do that if http://www.tagc.com has no content.

  • Hi there,

tagc.com seems to have expired, so if you want it to continue redirecting to the other domain, particularly if it’s getting a lot of traffic, you will have to renew it.

I can see it already expired three days ago, so please move fast and renew it before it’s gone or enters the redemption period, where you’ll have to pay much higher fee for renewal.

You might have to purchase the Site Redirect upgrade as well, if it also expired.

  • OK, this is confusing. The domain WHOIS shows it isn’t actually registered with WordPress.com, rather Network Solutions most probably.

Domains can only be renewed by their owners through its registrar. It also lists the expiry date as 2025, so not sure why it’s showing that message on your blog.

Thread tagged for Staff attention, they’ll be here soon to respond so please be patient.

    Thank you so much :-)

I hope the staff at WordPress.com can help us. In the meantime I will try to contact Network Solutions.

  • Hi @henriette1972, your domain is mapped here, and the mapping subscription has expired. You also have a site redirect in place that is valid for a while.

You would be welcome to continue the mapping subscription (though you would need to log in as the upgrade owner to pay for it.) Or, if you can control the domain, ask your site host if you can add the domain to your account and set up a redirect there. Good luck!

    Thank you for your response.

Sounds good that we have our mapping subscription with you.

We would like to continue the mapping subscription, but the problem is that the employees who were in charge of this job is not employed here at TAG Copenhagen anymore. So I don’t know how to upgrade, cause we haven’t got the login information.

In your response you write that we need to log-in as the upgrade owner, but we don’t have that information, can you help us with that? (maybe you can send a link how to reset the upgrade owners account?)

    Looking forward to your reply.

  • Hi,

maybe you can send a link how to reset the upgrade owners account?

    Sure, use this:
    https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery

If you can find a paypal transaction ID from a recent upgrade, you can use that to gain access. Cheers!

Hi, I have tried to use the recovery link you send, but when I try to recover and fill in all information it says that the receipt doesn’t appear to be valid, but it is a transaction ID I have from our bank, which I hope is the latest transaction paid to wordpress [redacted]

I don’t know how to enter our sites to upgrade our redirection??? …can you help me in another way. Can I send you some proof from our bank?

    Looking forward hearing from you.
    Best regards
    Henriette Ross-Petersen

  • Hi, I’ll edit your post to remove information. Can you respond to my email instead? We don’t want payment information posted in a public forum.

  • Also, using the transaction ID from your bank, you should be able to get the paypal transaction ID, which is different. Here’s how:
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/paypal-transaction-id/

Again, please respond to my email or complete the recovery form rather than continuing here. If you only needed that data to log in, anyone else pretending to be you could use the same information if you give it out publicly. Thanks!

Hi, Where can I see your email address?

  • I emailed you already. If you’ll look for my email you can reply to that. I’ve just sent another copy.
