  If you simply want the domain to redirect to your WordPress.com site, you can set that up on your domain provider’s end. To be clear, in that case clicking on your domain will take people to your site, but they’ll see the free WordPress.com address in their browser.

  If, on the other hand, you’d like your WordPress.com site to appear at the domain, you’ll need to upgrade to one of our paid plans, and then add our domain connection upgrade to connect the domain to your site:
