Redirect domain to another site

i want to redirect my domain to another site. That is, when someone types it (sample1.com) I need to automaticly redirect to another site independent from wordpress (sample2.com). We need to do it in order to give us tome to refurbish our wordpress site.

Hi,
You have a couple of options. You can use our Site Redirect upgrade ( http://store.wordpress.com/premium-upgrades/redirect/ ) to direct all traffic from your site to a different site or you can change nameservers to point to a different hosting account.
With the second option, the hosting account would need to be set to use the sample1.com domain.
For a short term effort, I would suggest the Site Redirect upgrade since it’s quickest to turn off and on.

Dear kraftbj, we tried the upgrade and it worked perfectly in just two minutes. Sometimes it is better to pay a little more and thus avoid a waste of time that could turn into more money spent!

Glad to hear it! Indeed—often I’m tempted to “play” with something to get it working rather than taking a paid option too. Sometimes, it works out in my favor and sometimes, as you noted, it ends up being a big waste!
