Redirect Error – Google Search Console
-
Hello,
I have browsed through the forum, but I couldn’t find an answer that;s applicable to my case.
I don’t have any plug-ins on my website. I just started developing it, and I asked Google via Google Search Console to index the following websites:
I got an email saying there is a Redirect error. I can’t see any additional info in Google Search Console.
Could you please help me out with this?
WP.com: Yes
Jetpack: No
Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hey there!
It looks like each of the links provided are individual pages on your site https://my-academics.com/. Is Google showing an error for these pages, or the site itself? Additionally, if you can share the exact error Google is sharing this would be helpful for investigating.
I did take a look at your domain https://my-academics.com/ and I did not see any issues with the setup or security.
Look forward to hearing back from you!

Hi staff-dragon,
thanks for your reply!
Yes, I meant the three individual pages I’ve provided on my-academics.com. Apologies for the confusion!
Google is not showing an error for the site itself, but only for these three pages.
This is what Google Search Console shows.
I’m afraid I can’t find anymore specific information anywhere on the website. Could you please advise me if I’m missing something?
Thanks,
Leonardo -
Can you try clicking “Validate Fix” ?
I checked each page; they’re all status 200 without any redirects, so I’m not sure what issue Google is having. If they don’t validate, perhaps the Learn More will have more info?

Hi supernovia,
Thanks for your reply!
I just clicked “Validate Fix”. I think it’ll take a couple of days for Google to validate it, so I’ll keep you posted.
Clicking “Learn more” wasn’t very useful. Here’s the link. It’s a very short paragraph.https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/7440203#page_with_redirect

Thanks, if it continues, can you try this?
To see the index status of the canonical URL associated with this URL (the URL that is in the Google Index), click the INSPECT button in the Page indexing > Indexing section of the report.
Those pages weren’t set up as redirects, but I wonder if that would have more info. Thanks in advance!

I just received a report from google search console for the same redirect error for both pages on my site. Can you update if you figured out the problem?

Hi July travels,
I still haven’t gotten an update from Google. As soon as I have any news, I’ll let you know for sure :)

Can either of you share this info?
To see the index status of the canonical URL associated with this URL (the URL that is in the Google Index), click the INSPECT button in the Page indexing > Indexing section of the report.
And @julztravels – can you share the affected URLs for your site? We had already checked the ones @pieroboneducation sent to ensure they’re not redirecting.

Hi Supernovia,
do you need this info for the homepage (my-academics.com)?
If so, here it is:

For the three pages with the redirect error, this info doesn’t exist, since they’re not indexed.
I hope this helps!

@supernovia Here are both of the URLs that google did not index due to a redirect error. Thanks for your help!

Ah, sorry. I was working with their support doc and thought that would help.
I just signed in for my own site though to see if I can figure out how to navigate this. Can you give this a shot?
- Hover over one of the pages in the list, and look for a magnifying glass (I’m hoping you’ll see one)
- If you see a magnifying glass, click that. You want to get to a page where you can inspect that URL. Then click Test Live URL.
In my case, a page that was not indexed because of a “redirect” is now properly indexed. Please give that a go!

@supernovia yes, I clicked that and got some green check marks saying that the page can be indexed then hit request indexing again. I assume now I just wait to see if it works when google crawls the page again?
