Redirect going to the wrong place
-
I tried to purchase a redirect for our site to go to: pawa.org.au
It sent it to pawa.org.au/about instead – which doesn’t exist so it’s generating 404 errors.
I have cancelled the redirect but it is still happening.

Your site is loading properly for me. Can you please try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies?

I did clear caches first.
I have isolated it further – it is only affecting the About page. If I try to view site from that page on the dashboard or click it from a Google search (it’s the one at the top when searching “printmaking, pawa” for example) – the about page was going to a 404. I now have a work around in place at the new site with a 301 redirecting to the correct page.
I realise, thinking about it now, that when I purchased the redirect I was expecting all traffic to go to the page I requested “pawa.org.au” not try to map individual pages – because they may not all exist.
Thankyou

That’s actually normal, the redirect really only works if you maintain the same permalink structure.
