Redirect loop

    Alright, I don’t know what I did. We originally started with a blog through wordpress.com and bought the domain bataviasbest.com. We then decided to self host and bought the domain bataviasbest.org. We wanted to make it so all the .com got sent to the new .org, and got them mapped together. I thought that was correct (it may be …?) but then I realized there was a separate Site Redirect upgrade in the store. I just bought that and set it up but it’s still intermitently going down. Did I do something wrong along the way? The .org is setup through Bluehost. Do I need to do something there? Thanks.

    What needs to be done is for the .org to be removed from the mapping, right?

    Bumping a thread after an hour is poor form and distorts the fabric of space and time – also you are in the wrong forum (see below)

    You are real vague with throwing around partials URL’s – so definitive help is impossible to give you

    If you had a site here (your-old-blog.wordpress.com) then a site redirect is the proper thing to do – if you had domain mapping your should cancel it.

    About the bataviasbest.com & bataviasbest.org and wanting to have bataviasbest.com displayed in the browser window – you need to get help at WordPress.ORG since you will be “moving” the site – DON’T just go into the Dashboard and change the URL – that will mess things up royally and completely crash your site – since you are wanting to have two URL’s – you will probably also need to get help from your registrar and / or host to make the redirect work properly in the background (NOT the same as the site redirect here)

    The site you are asking about does not seem to be hosted on WordPress.COM so you need to make friends over at WordPress.ORG the keepers of the software you are using.
