Redirect my WordPress site

  Hi If I upgrade my plan, will my url change to a new url. Got a notification ‘WordPress.com Subdomains: Your subdomain will change from howtoimproveemployeeretention.wordpress.com to howtoimproveemployeeretention.wpcomstaging.com.’.

  I want to retain my existing URL as the URL has good traffic. If the URL gets changed to a staging site, will there be an automatic redirection in place so that i dont lose traffic.

  Please clarify

  Hi there,

  It sounds like you are planning on upgrading to either our WordPress.com Business or eCommerce Plan, yes? Please be aware that to enable the option to add plugins and themes, these sites use our “business hosting” and are not hosted on our shared wordpress.com servers. Because of this they do not have a “wordpress.com” address, but instead each plan comes with a credit to register a free domain for your site.

  When you register your free domain, we will redirect traffic from the “wordpress.com” address to your custom address instead, so that no traffic is lost.
