redirect new domain to existing site not working
-
I’ve tried to redirect the domain http://www.tasmaniabeyondtheseas.com (godaddy) to http://www.tasmaniabeyondtheseas.wordpress.com. It continues to duplicate the ending – wordpress.com – so it doesn’t work. I have no idea how to fix it, so any help would be good. Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
A redirect like what you’ve set up with GoDaddy only sends traffic from one domain (tasmaniabeyondtheseas.com in this case) to another (tasmaniabeyondtheseas.wordpress.com). It will not make your WordPress.com site appear at the GoDaddy domain.
To have that happen you need to connect the GoDaddy domain to the WordPress.com site through a process called domain mapping, and requires a paid WordPress.com plan:

No, I want the existing wp site to stay as it is, and just want the new domain to point to the wordpress site. I followed the instructions, but I get the following message – Warning! Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found. Please log in and go to the Domains Upgrades page of your blog to use this domain.

Hi there,
For tasmaniabeyondtheseas.com to point to tasmaniabeyondtheseas.wordpress.com you need to map it. There’s no other way.
Please make sure to first purchase one of our plans (except for the Blogger plan), add the domain, and then change your name servers (from GoDaddy’s control panel).
