redirect non www to www

    Folks,

I want to redirect my non www website domain to www.

Currently I have the following as my DNS entries:

    A abhilashshukla.com handled by WordPress.com
    NS abhilashshukla.com handled by WordPress.com
    CNAME *.abhilashshukla.com handled by WordPress.com
MX abhilashshukla.com mail handled by smtp.secureserver.net. with priority 0
MX abhilashshukla.com mail handled by mailstore1.secureserver.net. with priority 10
    CNAME http://www.abhilashshukla.com alias of abhilashshukla.com.

I know this has nothing to do with redirection. But I don’t have access to .htaccess file. Or do I have somewhere? I have purchased the domain mapping service and have mapped my domain. But I just want to have my website running with www only. As that is already indexed in google.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hello Abhilash,

The reason why the ‘www’ domain is missing in your blog URL is because WordPress.com automatically removes the ‘www’ from all URLs. Quoting from the support article:

WordPress.com automatically removes the “www” from all URLs. Mapping the “www” subdomain is not supported

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-subdomain/

Effectively, the presence of ‘www’ does not make any difference – even in your search engine listings (I verified that myself; your website is in the first page of SERPs when you google your name). :)

    Happy blogging! :)

    – Hari.
