Redirect shared images to image unattached page
-
I have a gallery on my homepage, all these images are seen as ‘unattached’ and have a default unattached page. Which is fine, I’m gonna use that to optimize my SEO.
Each image needs to have a share button for social media like Pinterest. This is easily found through plugins.Problem:
When I share an image, it always links back to my homepage instead of the image’s Unattached page.So currently:
Share image on Pinterest -> Click image on Pinterest -> links back to homeWhat I want:
Share image on Pinterest -> Click image on Pinterest -> links back to default created unattached page where people can comment. Can anyone help or guide me to achieve this result?
Extra detail: I’m not using the WordPress default gallery. -
Hello @ceeandimagine,
Have you set your Sharing Buttons to include Media? I tested this on my test site, and here’s what happened:
When I click the image, I get options to share. I selected Pinterest.
I was able to pin the image.
I checked my pin, and clicked the image.
Then I was directed to the image page.If that’s what you wanted, here’s how I did it:
1. From the left menu, click Sharing.
2. Then click on Sharing Buttons tab.
3. Scroll down, and you will find Options section at the last part.
4. Tick Media under Show sharing buttons on.
5. Then click Save Settings. You may find more information from this link:

Hi Rose
Thank you for answering so quickly!
Unfortunately, I do not see the sharing option. I am not using default wordpress websites (e.g.: mysite.wordpress.com), but have downloaded and installed wordpress on my own website (mysite.com)Regards
