Redirect to a new website

Hi.
I am looking to purchase site redirect but want to be clear if all of my website visitors of thoughtsoverchai.wordpress.com will be redirected to thoughtsoverchai.net.
I have also changed the permalinks on my new website. For eg, a post of Stuffed Chicken Breasts has a url (https://thoughtsoverchai.wordpress.com/2014/08/18/stuffed-chicken-breasts-with-cheese-and-spinach/) on old site while on the new site, the url is (http://www.thoughtsoverchai.net/stuffed-chicken-breasts-with-cheese-and-spinach/) without a date. Will it work in this case? And also if I put my old site on private, will the site redirect still work?
I am looking to resolve this as soon as possible as it is affecting my Google Analytics report. Appreciate any help in this regard.

Yes I am also interested to know more about redirecting traffic. I want to close down my old site – trippinturpins.wordpress.com but I would like people redirected to the new site – trippinturpins.com if they visit my old site. Is this possible?
