Redirected site won’t load

When I’m logged into WordPress, my blog won’t load.

The blog is redirected to http://blog.stuandgravy.com. If I’m logged out of WordPress it loads fine at this address. However, when I’m logged in the site is constantly loading and won’t display: it looks like some sort of infinite-redirect loop. Post permalinks (e.g. http://blog.stuandgravy.com/2007/04/12/workflow-process-business-objects/) still load correctly.

I get the same behaviour in Firefox and IE. Any ideas?

I see it fine both logged out and logged in. How long ago did you make this change? (Do note that I asked a question in my post. Please be sure to answer it as it helps us help you.) You may want to clear out your local DNS cache. If you’re on a windows box, open up a text prompt and type in:

    ipconfig /flushdns

Thanks for the response. I made the change back at the beginning of March. Fulshing the DNS cache hasn’t made any difference.

Wouldn’t be if the change was back in March.

    Hmm….

What security programs are you running please?

There’s a FAQ on the redirect issue but I don’t think it would matter if the change was that long ago.

Symantec Antivirus, but that’s about it locally. I’m on an enterprise LAN though, connecting through a proxy.

Nothing obviously relevant in the Domain mapping FAQ.

To give a bit more info, in Firefox going to blog.stuandgravy.com results in a blank page with the status bar cycling between “Waiting for blog.stuandgravy.com…” and “Waiting for wordpress.com…”

this may be a cookie issue. I have noticed that if i don’t allow a redirected blog to set a cookie, i get the same thing you are describing in Firefox.

    just an idea…

I’m having the exact same issue as stuandgravy – my blog is at http://blog.srlanger.com (actually hosted at http://srlanger.wordpress.com but with the domain option switched on). The permanent loop actually happens both when attempting to view his blog and mine. It used to work fine for the last couple weeks.

Works for me without issue. Have you tried the suggestions made up above?

Hmm, now that’s interesting. I originally witnessed this behavior while connecting from a corporate LAN (through a BlueCoat proxy). It’s working fine from home.

I have Firefox set to allow cookies. I tried deleting the WordPress cookie, but get the same problem as soon as I log in again (and the cookie is recreated).

More information: I get the same problem at http://blog.srlanger.com and http://scobleizer.com.

    Anybody else have a suggestion?

At least 2 people, one issue.

Please – when you send feedback, send all your details. Pointing me at a forum thread is not useful.
    It just slows things down.

    It just slows things down.

So does having to ask where one’s blog over and over again is but oh no we can’t fix that issue either. And the broken admin links here in teh forums that I’ve complained about for over 2 months now.

Sorry. Bad day but they’re still issues.
