Redirecting a blog from Blogger to WordPress.com, then pointing to a new domain

  Hi there

  I’m new to blogging and set up a blog on Blogger last week, however have had issues with the Blogger platform (http://hideandsneakrecipes.blogspot.com) and want to move the blog across to WordPress.com. To complicate matters, I have purchased a new domain (http://hideandsneakrecipes.com) however neither the existing Blogger blog or the new WordPress blog currently use the new domain.

  I have attempted to set the new domain as the primary domain in WordPress however get an error message saying that the DNS isn’t set-up correctly which I think is something to do with getting the DNS records pointed from Hover to WordPress.com. I’ve contacted Hover for help but am yet to receive a response.

  I’d be very grateful if someone could please help as the current Blogger site is not presently available via mobile due to a redirect error which I can’t seem to resolve, so am keen to get the blog moved across to WordPress asap.

  You have domain mapping in place but your name servers seem to be set wrong: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/#instructions-for-mapping-an-existing-domain

  It takes 24 to 72 hours for changes to reach the far corner of the internet, changes usually start after a few hours. Once you have the name servers set correctly and the name server info is updated across the internet, the errors will go away

  Thanks auxclass, do I need to update the name servers with Hover (the service provider I purchased the domain from)? Once I’ve done this, do you know how I ensure that the current blog domain (http://hideandsneakrecipes.blogspot.com) redirects to the http://hideandsneakrecipes.com domain?

  yes the name servers need to be changed with the registrar

  Sorry I don’t know how the Blogger redirects are done, I know they have redirects but you need to ask at Blogger for the how to do the redirect
