redirecting an image/category
-
The original company that built our site ‘hid’ a lot of features, making it very difficult for a newbie like me to make simple changes to our site. One feature is that we have images and titles of categories of items. Currently if you click the image, it does nothing, and if you click the title, it doesn’t go anywhere, so to speak, but it does change the address. So for example, one category is paintings. If you click paintings, the url will change to http://www.whatsitworthartappraisals.com/what-we-value/#paintings. And if you type in the url http://www.whatsitworthartappraisals.com/what-we-value/paintings, you will be brought to a new page, which appears to be ‘editable.’ However, I can’t see how to change it to remove the # from the hyperlink. I don’t see URLs anywhere. Is this an easy fix? Does this question make sense?

Hi there, https://www.whatsitworthartappraisals.com is a self-hosted site at Synthesis web hosting and using the software from WordPress.org. It is not hosted here at the WordPress.com hosting service.
For self-hosted WordPress sites such as yours, I would suggest asking for help in the volunteer-based WordPress.org forums.
WordPress.com and WordPress.org are separate, so if you do not already have an account at WordPress.org, you will need to register.
The differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org.
I took a quick look at your site and from things look a bit strange in the HTML and not typical of what you would see in a WordPress theme, so there may have been some heavy customizations. The links in the left margin appear to be in the sidebar widget area, but typically that sort of thing is done with either a text/custom html widget, or in a Custom Menu Widget, and it is not looking like that.
Go to Appearance > Customize > Widgets and open the sidebar widget area and look in the widgets there to see if you can find those links.
If you can’t find anything there, you may want to post to the WordPress.org support forum, or possibly post at jobs.wordpress.net and see what someone would charge you to straighten things out. I would suggest you let them know that you are wanting things set up so that you can easily edit/add/change things.
