Redirecting Blog
-
Hi,
We have recently had a new website built that includes its own blog, therefore we have purchased a redirect for a year.
We notice that the wordpress blog’s main URL now successfully redirects to our website’s blog, but all of the individual URLs for each of the wordpress blog posts redirects to the 404 error page.
Is there a way of redirecting ALL the wordpress blog URL’s to the page we have specified?
Please do not hesitate to contact us on 01282 811250.
Thank you and kind regards,
Deborah

Hi Deborah,
We can definitely get this to work. First, you’ll need to export and import all of your posts from thepolytunnelblog.wordpress.com to your new blog following the instructions here:
Then, you’ll need to make sure that the post URLs at your new blog follow the same format as your WordPress.com blog. For example, your post at WordPress.com, “Top Tips for heating a Polytunnel in winter.”, has the following URL:
http://thepolytunnelblog.wordpress.com/2014/01/13/top-tips-for-heating-a-polytunnel-in-winter/
The corresponding blog post at your new address will need to have the following post URL:
http://www.premierpolytunnels.co.uk/blog/2014/01/13/top-tips-for-heating-a-polytunnel-in-winter/
In other words, everything after the domain will need to match. Does that make sense?
