Redirecting .com individual blogs to self-hosted site
-
I few years ago I moved my .com content over to my self-hosted website but the old blog is still getting some activity due to google ranking on some of the blogs. I just put added a redirect to the website which gives a Page Doesn’t exist since the redirect has the date & name in the URL and the website blog version just has the name. Is there a way to redirect the individual blogs? If so, does that mess with the google ranking?
If there is no way to do this, Is there a way to remove the redirect as it is better to keep the old blogs out there for name recognition than to have an error msg
.com URL is https://jonettecrowley.wordpress.com
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
I can confirm you have correctly added the “site redirect” upgrade, which is what we recommend if you need to send traffic from your WordPress.com site to another site elsewhere.
On my end, when I try to visit jonettecrowley.wordpress.com I am redirected to centerforcreativeconsciousness.com/jonette-crowley-blog/ as expected. However this does not account for the fact that your new site uses a different permalink structure, which causes our post-to-post redirect to fail.
There is not a way to fix that on this end, but what you can do is set up a redirection plugin on centerforcreativeconsciousness.com/jonette-crowley-blog/ like one of the ones you see here
This will work in combination with the site redirect you added on this end, so that after we send traffic to your site, the redirection plugin can be set up to intercept it before it results in a 404, and send the visitor to the post on your site (which does not have the date in the permalink)
Hope this helps!
