Redirecting domain… I need a support tech

  I purchased a domain through name cheap about 2 years ago and then purchased the map my domain through wordpress.com.

  I followed the steps provided on the website and it doesn’t work. As soon as I type my website name in “thesportshubb.com” it says it can’t be found. I contacted name cheap to see if the problem was on there end and they informed me it was not.

  I changed my DNS to the
  NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
  NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
  NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

  I can’t find any contact information to talk to a tech support guy !! I need help.

  Hi tanyakhubbard,

  I see that your domain nameservers is pointed correctly. I’ve tagged this topic for a Staff follow-up. They’ll be able to see if anything’s wrong with the domain mapping.

  Hi @tanyakhubbard

  The problem is you have the site redirect upgrade, not domain mapping. This means that your WordPress.com domain (thesportshubb.wordpress.com) is being redirected to http://thesportshubb.com, but because that domain isn’t pointing (or mapped) to any content, the browser can’t find your site and returns the “site unavailable” message.

  In order to point your domain to your WordPress.com site, you need domain mapping.

  You can add domain mapping to your site from here:
  https://wordpress.com/domains/

  Hi tanyakhubbard,

  Since @lizthefair mentioned that you purchased the wrong upgrade, I would suggest that you request a refund for the Site Redirect upgrade, and purchase the Domain Mapping upgrade after that.

  Thanks so much for getting back to me.

  I definitely purpured the mapping my domain. I just check in my purchases.

  Should I delete it and try it again ?

  As of right now if you try to purchase the map my domain it states “thesportshubb.com is already being mapped by a wordpress blog. Which I’m assuming is me.

  Any suggests of what my course of action should be

  Very strange. I also looked in your account, and am seeing something different. I’m going to send you a private e-mail about this issue so you can send me a screen shot of your purchases page. Hopefully that will help us sort this out.

  I need help deleting the redirect so I can try to map correctly !

  Right now why I try to but to the mapping it saying “someone is already mapping my domain to a wordpress account.” I’m sure it’s because I have the redirect.

  Hi @tanyakhubbard

  I removed the site redirect and replaced it with a domain mapping subscription that expires on the day your site redirect was set to expire.

  It should all be working now.
