redirecting domain name to wordpress.com

    Dear Rachel,
thanks for your help. i have done the mapping, but it won’t work. it’s even worse now, even though i now have two domain names on wordpress http//:enquetedusens.be and http://enquetedusens.wordpress.com, since the mapping, supposed to redirect http://www.enquetedusens.be to enquetedusens.be, which we know won’t be allowed by canalblog,
http://enquetedusens.wordpress.com is not even visible any more, as it’s redirected to http://www.enquetedusens.be, ie on Canalblog.
how can i cancel the mapping?
i’m also changing registrar. this is getting really mad. i might even cancel everything altogether if i can’t find a clear solution…!

Note that the domain name selected in “my domains” on the WPadmin is enquetedusens.wordpress.com and not enquetedusens.be

    Hi there,

I checked your site and I’m able to see it here: https://enquetedusens.wordpress.com/

If you recently made changes to the primary domain (on your My Domains page) it may take a little time for that link to work for you, instead of redirecting to your custom domain.

I also checked enquetedusens.be, and it isn’t yet using the WordPress.com name servers. Do you want me to cancel and refund that domain mapping upgrade for you altogether, and just go back to using the free WordPress.com address for your site, or are you still waiting for the registrar/name server change to take place?

    thank you Rachel,
https://enquetedusens.wordpress.com/ on my computer it redirects automatically to http://www.enquetedusens.be. i’ve checked on another computer and it works ok, just not on mine, i think it’s a cache problem.
    So anyway,
Canalblog won’t allow the mapping redirection unless i change registrar. which i’m trying to do with OVH now but i need to know whether they can support a wordpress.com. and not just .org.
so indeed, i’m still waiting for the registrar/name server change to take place.

Now as i want to keep the blog on wordpress.com and knowing that wordpress.com doesn’t allow the www in the url, shall i not keep the domain name https://enquetedusens.be, as i risk losing it, don’t i?

    Hi there,

Thanks for the explanation. At this point, it sounds best to leave everything as it as here at WordPress.com and wait for the domain transfer to take place.

Once your domain is transferred to a registrar that can point it to WordPress.com, you can update the name servers as described in our guide to Map an Existing Domain.

Please let me know if I can do anything more to help in the meantime. :)
