Redirecting from a defunct URL
-
I changed the title of my blog from drhiphop85.wordpress.com to thedrhiphop.wordpress.com. Then I purchased an upgrade so now my blog is just thedrhiphop.com. I want to know if I can redirect people from both of those previous URLs to my new one? If so please let me know. Thanks
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello,
Unfortunately, I don’t think you’ll be able to do that. It’s possible that you could work something out with the Site Redirect upgrade, but I don’t think it will work due to the way you changed blog addresses. You could try creating a new blog at your old address and redirecting it, but when I tried to do that it wouldn’t let me so it may or may not do the same for you.

You purchased domain mapping from http://thedrhiphop.wordpress.com/ to thedrhiphop.com and that is directing correctly.
drhiphop85.wordpress.com is no longer available.
The authors have deleted this blog. You deleted that blog and redirecting from it is not possible.

Thank you all for responding. Is it possible for me to fully delete the original URL of “drhiphop85” and then recreate it, so that I can then use it as a redirect? Because I’m losing traffic from people who aren’t aware of the change.

Hello again,
Once a free hosted WordPress.com blog has been deleted it’s gone forever and the URL cannot be recycled and reused.I also note that Staff answered you here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/redirecting-problems?replies=3
