Redirecting GoDaddy domain to my WordPress blog

  • Unknown's avatar

I have paid the $13/year for mapping/redirecting my domain to my WordPress blog, but for some reason it is not working.

I checked with GoDaddy support, and they said the problem is on the WordPress side. Can someone please help?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, Your above site is loading for me at https://empowerme247.blog/ so it looks like this is working now.

Just letting you know that whenever you make a DNS change to your domain, it can take up to 72 hours for it to propagate through the internet. If you still don’t see it, you might need to hard refresh your browser or empty it’s cache.

Hope that helps but let us know if you have any other question about this.

  • Hi there,

Of what domain are you speaking?

I don’t see any GoDaddy domains mapped to your WordPress.com site, only the domain empowerme247.blog which was registered with us today as part of the Personal Plan on your site.

I see you had a Site Redirect upgrade for the domain, http://www.empowerme247.com, which you’ve since cancelled. A Site Redirect is the opposite of mapping – it points traffic away from your site to the domain you specify, rather than connecting that domain to your site.

If you still want to map that domain you can do it free of charge as part of your plan. Go to My Site ->Domains ->Add and select the option to use a domain you already own. Then select the mapping option and add your domain there.
