Redirecting GoDaddy domain to my WordPress blog

  • Unknown's avatar

I have paid the $13/year for mapping/redirecting my domain to my WordPress blog, but for some reason it is not working.

I checked with GoDaddy support, and they said the problem is on the WordPress side. Can someone please help?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi @raghulr,

With mapping, you keep the domain at your current registrar (GoDaddy) and you point it to your site hosted here. You can read more about that feature and how to set it up here:

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

Please note that to map your domain you’ll need a paid plan. Also, after the 60-day lock you’ll be able to transfer your domain here at no additional cost (provided that you have a paid plan already).

    Best :)

Thanks sir. So far from previous year it was not much difficult to domain redirect process.

    My doubt is

I register a blog at wordpress.com in 2012. Then bought a domain at wordpress.
later on i transfer my domain to godaddy because of three year domain option. There is no problem untill before pay my site redirect fee at wordpress (i.e. March 12, 2020) After that my site not redirect to raghul.org.

    My Question is

Now i’m in free plan. Is i really need to paid plan at wordpress to personal/business plan then only access my site?

    Hi @raghulr,

I think I will need to transfer you over to staff so that they can take a closer look at your account and your upgrades etc on the account.

I am tagging this post for staff’s attention. They will get back to you and help you out.

  • Hi there,

Now i’m in free plan. Is i really need to paid plan at wordpress to personal/business plan then only access my site?

You would be welcome to access your site at a free address like https://raghulr.wordpress.com/.

If you want to redirect raghulr.com to that address you may. It’s only if you want raghulr.com to show up as the primary address that you’ll need a paid plan.

    I hope this helps!
