redirecting .lv domain to maarts80.wordpress.com

    Hi, I own martinskalis.lv domain and a free maarts.wordpress.com. I am not ready yet to pay to upgrade to paid plan as I have not started to make any content to my blog yet. Is it possible, within FREE plane, to make martinskalis.lv domain to redirect to maarts80.wordpress.com site (with URL being maarts80.wordpress.com after redirection)? How do I do it exactly? My Latvian domain registrar nic.lv does not provide possibility to redirect domain to another url, they say I can change name servers and then update settings at wordpress.com. Nut, as I said, I am not yet ready to upgrade to paid wordpress plan.

    Hi! Generally if you use the Connect a Domain guide, you’d still end up with a plan in your cart, which sounds like that isn’t what you’d want.

    Is there any particular reason you’re wanting to connect the domain prior to upgrading to a plan? If it helps, you can still set up your site at the free level (with the free features) and do things like set up your Navigation block to link to different pages on the site; when you apply a custom domain to the site then the links in the navigation block would automatically direct to the custom domain as it is!
