Redirecting my Domain
-
I need help directing my domain to a different site. So far I can’t get it to work and I don’t know why. These are the instructions my school gave me to direct things to the site they provided:
Sign in to your domain account (i.e. GoDaddy, Namecheap, etc.).
Find your DNS settings under one of the following types of links:
Domain Information Section
Manage Domain
DNS Zone Editor
Or any reference to your domain name settings
Locate the area where your domain name is listed to add a host record. This will connect your domain name with your website’s IP address.
Refer to A(Host) and:
Edit the “@” record to point to 64.106.164.45.
If there is a “www” record, remove the host record.
Add a CNAME record and point www to hcw-cname.integrativenutrition.com
If your account has “domain forwarding” or “forward with masking” turned on, turn it off. You do not want to forward your domain.
Save. Changes can take anywhere from 1 hour to 48 hours.
After 48 hours, sign in to your Health Coach Website through your Student Dashboard.
Click the Site Profile tab in the Main Content Editor.
Then click the Custom Domain tab.
Paste your domain name into the Paste Your Domain field.
Click Save. That is the end of their instructions. I do believe I did the A host properly, but I don’t understand the CNAME portion. I did just update it though. I don’t know if it’s correct. If someone could look at the info I updated and tell me if I have done something wrong I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you!

Never mind on the whole thing. Sorry if I wasted anyone’s time, but I decided to not even bother with this other website. It’s WAY too much of a pain in the arse to try using.

You can point the domain you registered at WordPress.com to another server (hosting service), with these steps:
You’ll need to obtain the name server values from your current host. You should be able to find them on their support documentation, or contact them and ask for the information. (Name servers may be referred as “nameservers” or “NS records” instead.)
If you need assistance with this process, let me know, and I will be happy to help.
