Redirecting my WordPress.com to my own hosted domain
-
Hi!!
I have a blog called technofriends.wordpress.com which is a wordpress.com hosted blog, however, in December 08, i moved to my own hosted blog available at http://technofriends.in. That time, i also upgraded to have the redirect from technofriends.wordpress.com to technofriends.in in place by playing 10$.However, now the redirect upgrade has expired and i seem to be losing the traffic which lands up on wordpress.com blog. In order to upgrade again, i will have to modify my DNS record to point to wordpress name servers. This seems to be risky as my main website ( technofriends.in) wont get any new traffic ( as dns will point to wordpress.com blog).
Is there a workaround? I need the upgrade but don’t want to point my DNS to wordpress.com Name servers.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No workaround, I’m afraid. My suggestion is place a text widget in the sidebar of your wordpress.com blog with a link to your new domain.

Set a static front page on your WordPress.com blog with a link directing people to your new one, then delete all the other content (after exporting it, of course, so you’ve got a copy of everything.).
