redirecting to my new wordpress.org site
-
So I managed to get from wordpress.com to wordpress.org – woohoo! but how can I redirect my wordpress blog to my normal url
e.g my old site is http://supasuze.wordpress.com
and the new one is http://www.supasuze.comthanks in advance

There is no automatic redirection.
The only way that I know of to do that, is to go through all of your posts and put some text saying that you moved, etc. But since you can’t use JavaScript, you post your own code to do auto-redirects.

You can create a post with a link to your new site (looks great, btw) and make that a static front page on your .com blog.

It helps, too, if once you’re sure you’ve got ALL the content from your WP.com site on your new site, you delete it here. That leaves ONLY the “hi, we’ve moved to http://www.supasuze.com so see you there!” notice here. That will get you more clicks than the notice with content around it.

Yes you can redirect your WordPress.com blog to your new blog domain. You can read about it at http://menoob.com/2008/06/07/redirecting-wordpress-com-to-wordpress-org/.

Interesting. I would like to see a few more examples, because that whole “doesn’t convert old internal links” thing would be a huge disadvantage.
