Redirecting traffic and stats from Blogger

    Hi, I’ve moved from Blogger to WordPress.com recently. I thought that I could redirect traffic from the old Blogger posts directly to the same post in the new blog on WordPress.com, rather than just the homepage (which does work), but it looks like I can’t do this unless I self-host as a .org site. Also it seems that I can’t import stats from Blogger to WordPress.com. Is that right? All the advice online about this was for self-hosted WordPress. Is there a work around, or is the only solution to go self-hosted?

    I see that you had a chat with David about these questions. We aren’t able to transfer the stats from Blogger to WordPress.com.

    Are you interested in moving over to self hosted WordPress so that you can transfer the stats? If so, check out move.wordpress.com and let me know about any follow up questions you have.

    I’ve tried moving from free WordPress to self-hosted WordPress but I sill can’t move my stats from blogger or re-direct from blogger post direct to WordPress post, even with the Blogger to WordPress plugin. I’m wondering if a mis-match between blogger permalink structure and WordPress.com structure is a problem, and if it’s even possible at all by this route.

    Hi there –

    As WordPress.com staff I don’t have access to the self hosted site to help troubleshoot any Plugin issues. The best place to get help for that will be at wordpress.org/support/

    I know that gohomespun.com wasn’t with WordPress.com too long, but I can transfer any stats from the WordPress.com version of the site over to the self hosted version if you’d like.

    Hi, had meant to get back to this to say that I’ve managed to get the redirect from the old Blogger blog to WordPress working using Blogger Redirect 301 plug-in with the custom permalink. I’ve got the stats from the .com site transferred to self-hosted through the Jetpack support. Thanks for your advice.
