redirecting visitors to upgraded site.
-
I’m considering upgrading my blog but I’m worried that I will lose all my back links. I have a several back links leading to thatdudeeddie.wordpress.com and I was wondering if I where to change the name of my blog, and upgrade would the links re-direct visitors to the new name upgraded site or would I have to go and change all the links manually?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The links will redirect, but they won’t count towards SEO on your new URL. That is why people often ask bloggers who’ve linked to them to update their links (few actually will do that though).

If you change your blog address by using this procedure http://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/ do note that you can purchase a site redirect upgrade and that will address your issue.
7. The final option presented on this screen allows you to discard your current address. This option will permanently disable the address and you will not be able to reuse it. Only select this option if you are sure you will not use the address again. If you want to redirect traffic to the new blog, you can keep the address and purchase the Site Redirect upgrade.
If you choose to purchase your own domain name via a domain mapping upgrade then again you issue will be addressed.
