Redirecting WordPress.com domain to Godaddy Hosting Account
-
Hello,
I am having significant trouble redirecting rachaelnovello.com to my new Godaddy hosting account at the following IP address: 23.229.196.201.I have followed the above instructions to the letter. Initially, everything was working and then the IP started to fail to resolve. Now I cannot get the IP to resolve at all. Everytime I follow these instructions now I receive 404 and redirect loop errors.
Is this a nameserver issue?
Please advise.
Thank you!

Hi there!
It appears that the IP address option may not be valid, and I did not see any valid name server change. If you can provide us with the name servers for your provider, we can change them for you.
Also, there is another method in which you can handle your registration, that may be simpler to do. You can transfer your domain’s registration directly to GoDaddy, to bypass the requirements of altering name servers and adding IP addresses, and instead, use GoDaddy’s DNS management tools directly.
There is a detailed guide to help you do that right here:
You will also need to change the domain servers, which you can find here:
Additionally, there is a detailed explanation by GoDaddy, to transfer the domain name servers to theirs right here:

Of course, if you have any more questions, please let us know.
Cheers!

Hello,
To your point, none of the settings are reflective of the new IP and nameservers since they’re not working and the site needs to be live at the moment. :) Unfortunately, the domain was registered within 60 days and cannot be transferred until mid August.
The IP address of the Godaddy hosting account is 23.229.196.201
The Godaddy nameservers that were provided are:
ns07.domaincontrol.com
ns08.domaincontrol.comThank you!

Hi there!
I updated the name servers (to ns07.domaincontrol.com and ns08.domaincontrol.com) as well as the provided IP address (23.229.196.201).
Please note that the new settings will now propagate and can take some time.
Please let us know if you have any more questions.
Cheers!

Thanks, but could you please address this article that says that we shouldn’t change the nameservers in the case of Godaddy?

Hi there,
Since the IP address option did not seem to be valid, the name server update may have been required. Since you have that information, I simply updated it for us to check.
If you can confirm the IP address you received from GoDaddy (as it was not properly functional beforehand), we can always revert back to the WordPress.com name severs.
Reply back as soon as you can.
