Redirection 404
-
Hello i have bough redirection to move traffic from my wordpress.com website (katcodes.home.blog) to my new wordpress.org site (katcodes.blog)
The redirection seems to be working when u type in the address, but the links i have shared on twitter to my posts in the past redirecting to my new website and erroring 404 that the page doesn’t exist.
The new website has the same url settings as my old one so dont know what might be the issue. Those tweets were bringing a lot of traffic to my website and I wouldn’t want people to see 404 when the post really does exist.
Could someone help me here? Thank u
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Make sure that your Permalink settings on the new site at Settings > Permalinks are set to “Day and Name.”

Hello thank u for your reply, I can confirm that permalinks on my new site are set as day and name.

This is the url of the shared post, not sure why twitter adds the extra bits at the end after …/summary/
But those links were working before I have set up the redirection…
https://katcodes.blog/2020/12/18/2020-the-summary/amp/#click=https://t.co/
But if I click on the shared post and copy the link and then open it in a web browser, it works fine…
Strange but im losing traffic because of this.
I have payed for redirection mainly because of those shared links and now they dont work -
I noticed that the URL you mentioned has “amp” in the URL and this relates to Google AMP page links. This is a tool we have built in on WordPress.com but if you do not have AMP enabled on your .org site, those URLs will not redirect.
However you can add AMP compatibility by adding this plugin to your site, and it should also allow those URLs to redirect correctly: https://wordpress.org/plugins/amp/
Hope this helps!
