Redirection not to SSL-encrypted pages?

  Yesterday I found here:

  Site Redirect

  Note: Site redirects will only point to a non-ssl ( http:// ) url.

  Is that true? Is a redirection by WP to a required SSL-encrypted page not possible at all?

  Hi there,

  The URL of the site you’re directing to must be added as an http link, not an https link. If your SSL certificate on the other site is correctly set up it should already have an http to https redirect.

  Oh, nice, there’s my question after all. When I sent it, it was not posted without comment.

  If I understand it correctly, I have to enter the URL as “http://” even if it is actually already “https://”?

  Exactly. Then if your SSL certificate is properly configured (as most are) it will automatically redirect it to the secure URL.

  Hi, another question: Will the redirection also work, if I’m setting my WP-Blob on privat?

  It will still work with the WordPress.com site set to private, yes.
