Redirection or Self Hosting (with transfert) ?

    what’s the best way to host myself (not on wordpress.com neither on wordpress.org) a blog actualy hosted on wordpress.com with own domain name ?

    if i do purchase a redirection is that enough ? do i keep my stats and followers (by email) from the old blog redirected to a new domain name (nosenchanteurs.eu soon) and, if installing the jetpack plugin from wordpress.com, all goes on as if nothing happened?

    OR

    should i ‘transfert’ all data from old blog to new blog and then go on? but do i loose something then? stats ? email followers?

    sorry to ask for but i’m a bit confused when i do read support and forum topics
