Redirection to my old blog

Hello
I had this blog, Stock Zombie, in the Sapos Blog platform.
Iam trying to change my files to wordpress.com.
However:
1 – Sapos platform does not allow redirections;
2 – your platform does nor accept their export file;
3 – Iam copying my blogs to this site but then it redirects to the old blog.
How can I solve this problem?

Thanks for getting in touch. The easiest option is to convert that export file from Sapos in to one of the many accepted file types:
https://wordpress.com/support/import/
Once you have the new site set up on WordPress.com you can close down the other one which will limit the SEO confusion that might happen in the interim.

I did the import using one of those files but nothing shows up.
Wordpress tells me that the import is done but no post appear.Kindest regards

Can you share what you used to convert the file to an appropriate format, and which format you converted it to?
Also, is the current site live somewhere? If you’ll send a link to that, we may be able to make some recommendations.

Actually I think I found it.
I see the blog is private right now. The current site may need to be public for the import to work properly.

Trying to answer your questions:
1 – I put the site private because was afraid was provoking some type of incompatibility. I have made it visible again.
2 – I use Movable Type and TypePad import for this files because was the only one that accepted the files.I will try to find other tool

Thanks, when you export from that site, are you exporting into TypePad or MT format?
Or, are you using a tool to convert their export to that? And if so, which tool?
Also, if you can let us know what format you’re using and upload to Dropbox or something similar, and share the link, we can take a look.

Thanks for uploading that. I took a look and the format _seems_ to say it’s WXR (WordPress export). We’ll do a test import and see if we can spot the issue.

It looks like it’s importing okay here in that format when I upload as xml. Do you want to go ahead and try it again? And do keep the old site live while the import runs so we can get the images.
